Working with SSL Certificates in WHM

The topic of this article is supported in its entirety by our customer support department.

You can generate an SSL certificate, consisting of an RSA private key and certificate, for any domain in WHM.  An SSL certificate is a public key which is certified by a trusted organization. In order to create a SSL certificate:

• Logging into your WHM through your customer manager at https://my.opensourcehost.com
• Click on “My Products” and then “Control Panel” across from your hosting package
• Once logged into your WHM, click on the “SSL/TLS” icon
• Click on the “Generate a SSL Certificate and Signing Request (CSR)” icon
• Enter the email address and domain where you wish to receive the certificate
• Fill the rest of the form for location and the email and password
• Click on the “Create” button
• You’ll then be navigated to a screen where you can obtain your CSR. You’ll need to copy and paste this code into your order when purchasing the certificate.
• Once you receive the certificate, you can also install it on the site via the “SSL/TLS” area
• To install the certificate, click on the “Install a SSL Certificate and Setup the Domain” icon
• Enter the domain name, username, and IP and click “Fetch” to obtain the .key and .crt files for the domain
• Click the “Submit” button to complete the installation
