Uploading your Website Content with FileZilla

FileZilla is a simple and popular FTP client for Windows, and can be downloaded from http://filezilla-project.org/ (You will want to download the FileZilla client)

Open the FileZilla program.....

At the top of the page you will see fields for “Host”, “Username”, “Password” and “Port”.

  • Host Enter your domain name (ie. yoursitedomain.com) or IP address if the DNS has not propagated yet on your domain name.

  • Username Enter your FTP username

  • Password Enter your FTP password

  • PortLeave Blank (Defaults to 21)

Click “Quickconnect”

The view on the left hand side is the “Local” directory. This is your local computer where you will need to navigate to your files that you want to upload/publish.

The view on the right hand side is the “Remote” directory. This is located on our server which is where you want your website content uploaded. You will need to navigate to the /public_html/ directory and upload your website content there. You will double click on the “public_html” folder to open it.

Drag your “Local” files/folders into the right side “Remote” view to upload them and make them live on your website.
