Creating a Virtual Host (Additional Domain)

The topic of this article is supported in its entirety by our customer support department.

You are able to add Virtual Hosts (Additional Domains) to your account. Each of these Virtual Hosts will appear as their own website, with their own separate content. These appear to the outside world as being completely individual sites.

To setup a Virtual Host you will:

  • Login to your Plesk control panel

  • Under Customer Buttons you will click on the icon for Virtual Host Manager

  • Type in the additional domain you want to setup. Do not enter the www

  • Click Add

This will create you a new directory using the new domain name in your /httpdocs/ directory.

The Virtual Host will simply share the resources and the mail server of the main domain name. It does not have its own control panel.

Important Note: You will not be able to publish to Virtual Hosts using Microsoft FrontPage/Expression Web

To Remove a Virtual Host you will simply select “Delete” next to the domain you want to remove.
