OpenSourceHost provides a simple Guestbook ValueApp that allows your website visitors to leave comments about your site. With the Guestbook, visitors simply type their comments and they are immediately posted inside of the guestbook for other viewers to see. This is a great communication tool for small clubs and organizations who do not wish to have a larger forum or mailing list to maintain, and is also great for personal sites to get feedback regarding the site.

To get started with the Guestbook:

Log in to your VDS Manager by clicking the ‘Login to VDS Manager’ link from the Products page of the Customer Manager, which is located at https://my.opensourcehost.com.

Click on Install & Manage on the left side of the screen

Click on the Collaboration icon at the top

Click on the Guestbook icon under the list of available ValueApps

Agree to the license

Select a password to use with the Guestbook ValueApp. This password will be needed when deleting guestbook entries; the username that you will use when logging in will always be ‘admin’.

The Guestbook is now installed and can be accessed by going to http://www.yoursitedomain.com/guestbook/; if you wish to login and delete entries from the guestbook, go to http://www.yoursitedomain.com/guestbook/admin/ and login with the username ‘admin’ and the password that you selected when installing the Guestbook. To prevent spam or junk posts in your guestbook, each user who posts must enter a verification code from an image that is displayed on the “Add Entry” page.
