Modifying Images in your Gallery

The topic of this article is not supported by our customer support department, however for your convenience we are providing this material to assist you in troubleshooting potential issues related to this topic.

After you have uploaded an image, you may wish to add additional descriptive comments and keywords, or to customize the image. You can do so by clicking on the image itself so that you are viewing the full-size copy, then by clicking on Edit Photo on the left. The following tabs will appear at the top of the screen with a variety of options:

General
This image allows you to update the title, name, and description of the image. This information is displayed with the image when you click on it to view the full-size copy. Only the image title and name are required.
Additionally, from this page you can enter the date and time that the image was taken, to facilitate chronological viewing of your images.
Finally, you can adjust the size of the thumbnail of the image by entering the size, in pixels, that the longest size of the image should appear as. If you do not wish for the item to have a thumbnail in album view, simply leave the field blank.

Photo
The Gallery ValueApp can automatically display multiple image sizes for your viewers to select from, which is convenient for users that have older computers or smaller monitors. From the Photo tab, you can enter the dimensions of additional sizes that should be listed with each image; when a user is viewing the full size image, they can use the image size drop down in the top right to select an alternate image size.

Modify Photo
If you wish to resize or rotate the image after it has been uploaded (for example, to correct an image that was taken in “portrait orientation” with the camera turned on its side), you can click on the Modify Photo tab at the top of the Edit Photo area and select which way to rotate the image, or enter a new image size to shrink the image.

Crop Thumbnail
If you would like to display only a particular portion of an image as it’s thumbnail (for example, a particular face from an image), use the Crop Thumbnail tab inside of the Edit Photo area. Just click on the corner of the green selection area to resize the selection, or drag the green selection area to move the selection. You can use the Aspect Ratio drop-down to change the size of the selection, then click Crop to save your changes. Please note that this function does not crop the image itself, but simply selects a portion of the image to be displayed as the thumbnail.

Watermark
If you are using your photo gallery to highlight art or photos that you are selling, you may want to add a watermark image to prevent theft of your images. This feature is for advanced use only; from the Watermark tab under Edit Photo, you can select the watermark image that you’d like to use, and position the watermark over your photo.
