Return to "Creating New Email Accounts"Auto-Responders are a useful email feature that allow you to automatically send a message back to someone who sent you an email. This message is often used to let the sender know you are on vacation, or to confirm that you have received their message.
Before you can enable the Auto-Responder ValueApp for an email user, you must enable this setting inside of the VDS Manager, which allows you to control who can use Auto-Responders on your hosting account.
Log in to your VDS Manager by clicking the ‘Login to VDS Manager’ link from the Products page of the Customer Manager, which is located at https://my.opensourcehost.com.
Click on Accounts on the left
Click on the Edit icon for the email account that you wish to allow use of the Auto-Responder
Click Next, then select “Enable Auto-Responder”
Click
Now that the Auto-Responder is allowed, it can be installed on the email account by the user; the site administrator does not need to add the Auto-Responder message for the email user.
Log in to your user manager at http://yoursitedomain.com/users/. When prompted for a username and password, enter the username and password for your email account. Do not include the @ sign or the domain name in the username field.

Now, whenever anyone emails you at the selected email address they will receive a message immediately back with the subject and body that you have specified. It is important to note that if someone sends you more than one email in a 24 hour period, they will only receive one automatic response message. This is normal, and is to prevent a mail loop if that person has an auto-responder enabled on their account.
