Return to "Miscellaneous"IP Filtering is a tool that allows you to block access to specific services on your VDS account for a particular address. An example of a good use for IP Filtering is if your site is being ‘flooded’ with hits from a particular computer. You can specify this computers IP address and block its access to your account. IP Filtering use is designed for power users only, as accidentally blocking a valid address could prevent visitors from being able to view your site. Log in to your VDS Manager by clicking the ‘Login to VDS Manager’ link from the Products page of the Customer Manager, which is located at https://my.opensourcehost.com.
From the VDS Manager, click on the IP Filtering link on the left.
Click the
button to add a filtered address.
Enter the IP address for which you wish to create the rule.
Check the services that you wish to ALLOW (be sure to un-check the services you wish to block):

You can remove an IP filter by checking the box next to the filtered address, then click on the Remove button.
