Service packages are the hosting plans that you plan to offer your customers. In the Service Package section of your Reseller Manager you can define the resources and ValueApps that you want to include in each plan.
To create a service package:
Log in to your Reseller Manager by clicking the ‘Login to Reseller Manager’ link from the Products page of the Customer Manager, which is located at https://my.opensourcehost.com.
Click on Service Packages
Click Add New Service Package on the Service Packages page
On the next page, enter the following information:
- Service Package Name - Enter a name for the new service package
- Description - Enter a short description for the package
- Enabled - Check the checkbox to enable the service package
- Server Group - Select a server group
Important Note: This determines which features you will have available for the package. If you are creating a name-based account, you must select SG1; if you are creating an IP-based account, you must select SG2 through SG5.
Click Next
On the next page, for Service Package Type select Basic
Important Note: The Basic service package type is for hosting packages, while “Add-on” is an extra service that can be made available through a service package and then “added on” to a customer’s account.

On the next page, enter the following information:
- IP Mode - Select the type of account, either name-based or IP-based
- Max DNS Records - Enter the maximum amount of DNS records they can create.
Important Note: Select the Unlimited checkbox to enable account owners with this service package to create an unlimited number of DNS records.
- Max Additional Domains - Enter the maximum amount of domain names that a VDS hosting account using this service package will be allowed to create.
- Disk Quota - Set the hard and soft limits for disk space.
- Soft Limit - When the account reaches the disk space soft limit, an email alert is sent to the reseller and the account owner. 7 days are given to drop back below the soft limit. After that, the system behaves as if the account has exceeded the disk space quota, and no additional files can be stored.
- Hard Limit - An account cannot exceed it’s hard limit quota. No files can be uploaded and no more email can be received. If it reaches the hard limit quota the reseller will receive an email notification indicating that the account is going to be blocked.
- Bandwidth Quota - Set the hard and soft limits for bandwidth each month.
- Soft Limit - When the account exceeds its bandwidth soft limit, an email alert is sent to the reseller and the account owner.
- Hard Limit - If an account reaches the hard limit quota, the account will be disabled and the reseller will receive an email alert.
- Set the limits for services:
- HTTP - Specifies the number of HTTP accounts (virtual hosts). 1 HTTP account is required for the account to be available online. Each HTTP account, including the main domain, counts towards the total number of virtual hosts you have available for your VDS Reseller Plan.
- FTP - Enable FTP access. This allows files to be uploaded to and downloaded from the account using the FTP protocol.
- POP - Enable POP email. POP enables the account to receive email. Enter the number of email accounts the account will be allowed to create or enter 0 for Unlimited.
- SMTP - Enable SMTP. SMTP allows the account to send email.
- Name-Based - SMTP is not available on name-based accounts.
- IP-Based - SMTP is only available on IP-based accounts.
- Allow Remote Access - Check the checkbox to enable access to the account(s) via SSH.
- Allow Anonymous FTP - Check the checkbox to enable anonymous FTP to the account(s). Anonymous FTP allows all website visitors anonymous FTP access to a specific folder on the account.
- Name-Based - Anonymous FTP is not available on name-based accounts.
- IP-Based - Anonymous FTP is only available on IP-based accounts.
- POP before SMTP - Check the checkbox to enable POP before SMTP, a method for authenticating users before they send mail through a mail server. It ensures that the person sending the email is actually the person who owns the email account.

Important Note: You can only select ValueApps that are currently being displayed. To display all available ValueApps, select “50” in the “Number of lines to show” dropdown.

Click Finish.
The service package is now added, and you will immediately be able to assign accounts to the newly created Service Package.
