Return to "Statistics"Every time someone visits your site, the server records their visit in a log file. These logs are useful for power users who wish to look for problems with their site, or for loading into web statistical software for analysis.
To view the log files for the web service, use your FTP client to navigate to the folder /var/log/httpd on the server. Other services (such as email) write diagnostic information to log files contained in /var/log/. You may see that some of the log files end with a number; these are previous logs that were ‘rotated’ and compressed by the server to save space.
If you wish to view an online statistical report for your account, use the included AWstats ValueApp, which can be installed from the VDS Manager. This application will process your log files and extract useful traffic information from them.
