Modifying Album Settings in the Gallery ValueApp

The topic of this article is supported in its entirety by our customer support department.

The Gallery ValueApp allows you to customize the appearance of each of your albums seperately. If you would like to modify album settings or appearance, login to the Gallery at http://yoursitedomain.com/gallery/, then click on the Edit Album link on the left side. The following tabs are available at the top of the screen:

General
These settings allow you to modify the title and description of your album; this information will be displayed under the album thumbnail or at the top of the screen. You can also modify the time and date listed in the top right corner of your album from the General tab.

Album
The Album tab is divided into multiple sections:

  • Sort Order - This allows you to specify exactly how items in the album should be automatically sorted.
  • Theme - If you have uploaded additional themes to your Gallery, they will be available in this drop-down menu.
  • Thumbnails - This setting allows you to specify the default thumbnail size; the size is specified in pixels on the longest side. You can override this setting on a per-item basis by clicking the Edit Photo link when viewing the photo.
  • Resized Images - This setting allows you to specify the sizes that each image should be automatically resized to; the different sizes of images are available to your viewers in the top right corner of the page when viewing the full-size copy of a photo.
  • Recreate thumbnails and resizes - By selecting these checkboxes, you can force the Gallery ValueApp to overwrite any per-item settings regarding thumbnail sizes, which is conveniant if you decide to switch to a larger thumbnail size in the future.

Theme
The Theme tab allows you to configure the theme that is currently active on the album; the available settings depend on the theme that you are using. Most themes will allow you to specify how many rows and columns of items should be shown in thumbnail view, as well as specifying the items that should appear on the sidebar of the theme. Some themes support ColorPacks, which are customized color sets that customize the look of your Gallery.
