Mac OS X comes with a built in email program called Mail.
To configure OS X Mail:
First, open the Mail application
Go to the Mail menu and select Preferences...
Click on Create Account
Enter information into the following fields:
- Account Type - Select “POP Account”.
- Description - Enter a name for the mailbox
- Email Address - Enter your email address
- Full Name - Enter the name that people will see when they receive a message from you
- Host Name - Enter your incoming mail server, mail.yoursitedomain.com
- Username - Your username is your full email address
- Password - Enter the password for the account
- SMTP Host - This is that of mail.yoursitedomain.com as well. However, currently many ISP’s block access to this port and you have trouble with outgoing mail function you should enter the smtp-server provided to you by your ISP
Click OK
Now that Mail is setup, you are ready to begin sending and receiving email using your domain’s email servers.
