Renewing your Domain Name

The topic of this article is supported in its entirety by our customer support department.

Domain names are typically registered for a period of one to ten years; when this registration period ends, the domain name is no longer active and the website cannot be accessed. To prevent this from happening, OpenSourceHost will automatically renew your domain name for a period of 1 year 30 days prior to its expiration date..

If you wish, you can renew your domain name at any point during the registration period; time will be added on to the end of your registration.

Log in to the Customer Manager at https://my.opensourcehost.com, then click on the Products tab at the top if you are not automatically redirected to your primary product details page.

Click the ‘Renew Domain’ link beside the doamin name you are working with. From here, you will have the option of selecting the term that you would like to renew your domain name for. After selecting the renewal term, click continue to review your account and payment information, being sure to make sure everything is accurate to avoid any delays in processing your request. Once you have submitted your order, the renewal of your domain name will be completed shortly. Note: domain renewals for domains that are expired can take up to 24-48 hours.
